• Hi There!

Hi, my name is Jonni and I am Mommy to Sofia (5 years old) and Samantha (6 years old) and wife to John. We reside in upstate NY. Our daughters are 5 mos. apart in age and a whole lot of fun. Sofia is from Jinchang City, Gansu and she turned 11 mos. during our trip to bring her home from China in 2007. Samantha is 5 mos. older but was our 2nd adoption. She was 3 years, 4 mos. when we brought her home from China in 2009. She is from Yangzhou City, Jiangsu.

I love blogging about our girls, photography, fonts, printables & crafts and I also have a slightly obsessive John Mayer addiction. Thank you for stopping by. :)

Update & A Surprise!

This past week has been a really L-O-N-G week! Poor little Sofia was surprisingly released from the hospital on Thursday. The doctor told us 5-6 days, but since she was drinking and eating she passed the tests to get to leave early (gotta love managed healthcare). Thank goodness my mom came up here to help us since none of us (incuding Sofia) have barely gotten any sleep. Sofia has been such a good little girl and has been very brave, but she has been in a lot of pain. Today has been the first day that she has really started acting like her old self again. We are so glad that the surgery is finally over and we don’t have to stress about it anymore. Our little girl can now eat without having to worry about food getting caught in her palate. Of course she still has about 3 weeks worth of recovery before she can have hard foods. My computer had a major problem on Friday and I had to take it in to a computer repair shop. Hopefully I will hear some good news about it tomorrow. I’m using John’s work laptop right now. Below are a few pictures from when Sofia was in the hospital. Also, we included some pictures from today. We got a good amount of snow overnight. John and I also have a surprise to share, if you want to take a guess (I am not pregnant) please leave it in the comment section below and I will share on the next post.

The nurses were so sweet, they decorated Sofia’s crib/gurney with her name and a heart.

Sofia had to have humidity on her face frequently so the swelling would go down.
