• Hi There!

Hi, my name is Jonni and I am Mommy to Sofia (5 years old) and Samantha (6 years old) and wife to John. We reside in upstate NY. Our daughters are 5 mos. apart in age and a whole lot of fun. Sofia is from Jinchang City, Gansu and she turned 11 mos. during our trip to bring her home from China in 2007. Samantha is 5 mos. older but was our 2nd adoption. She was 3 years, 4 mos. when we brought her home from China in 2009. She is from Yangzhou City, Jiangsu.

I love blogging about our girls, photography, fonts, printables & crafts and I also have a slightly obsessive John Mayer addiction. Thank you for stopping by. :)

Still Designing & Sofia’s Crib Escape!

I am still working on the blog and just trying to get a few more things done. I am attempting to produce a creative logo in Photoshop for this site and hope to have this blog makeover done sometime before the weekend.

Sofia had a rough night last night. She was up every hour crying for some reason. Both John and I were up with her trying to soothe her back to sleep. She woke up during the night and had a hard time falling back to sleep, she may have had a bad nightmare. It seems like every time I was just about to fall asleep again, she would cry. I got a real SHOCK this morning at 3:00 when I got up from bed to get her and guess who I see scurrying down the hall in my direction??? Yup, you guessed it. I thought I was going to fall over in shock. She did not even make a peep when she crawled over the crib, the only reason I woke up was because I heard her little feet pattering down the hall. This was the first time she crawled out of her crib, heck I didn’t even know she could do this! Sofia has been doing so many big girl things lately. I am going to have to put her baby gate up in her doorway tonight, so our little escapee doesn’t get into trouble.

To my friends Carla & Jill, On Saturday night I finally got my butt in gear and went to bed at 11:00pm! I slept for 9 hours. It was so nice to finally get some rest.

kerri - WOW!!
This new look is fantastic, your so creative. Just love the header!

Grandma Monica - First, I love the new pictures on your intro..can’t pick which is my favorite though. The night terrors, Lil Orchid has had those off and on. Makes you feel helpless. And I could just imagine the feeling in the pit of your stomach when you heard the pitter patter in the hall. (giggle)I get to laugh since I’m a Grandma. Lil Orchid has named one of her dolls in the play house Sofia. It’s so cute :)

*Overflowing* - LOL…what a funny girl! I know that feeling all too well…the serious climbing has begun…LOL!

Kristy - Poor baby, nightmates are scary but hearing that little pitter patter of footsteps is just priceless…how sweet is that!
Love, Kristy

Cheri - Wow, I think I’d die if Lia climbed out of her crib. Hopefully it is just a one time thing. Can’t wait to see your new blog design.

P.S. Would you like to get together for a play date in a couple of weeks?

kerri - Thank goodness there were no injuries for the little escape artist!
I remember those times well, we had to take Jillian out of her crib early, she just wouldn’t stay in it and would go head first over the rails, yikes!!
Can’t wait to see the new blog look this weekend!!

Snowflowers Mum - aaah yes….the crib escapee…we have one of those, last night was her first night in a ‘little’ big girl bed.

have fun with that

bbmomof2boys - Good for you!! 9 hrs – very very good!

Yeah – and Little T was up at 2 am until 3:30 – could not go back to sleep! Maybe Norie is right – full moon? Oh, and she has had a few night terrors too – just 2 but its not fun, poor baby..

Sofia is a little escape artist! I lay down in the bed in Little T’s room while she falls asleep in the crib. Last night she would not settle down, jumping, laughing, crying, playing – overtired. Anyway, I pretended I was asleep and watched her put her leg over the rail of the crib! She didn’t do anything else but she sure was thinking about it. We have been debating on taking her out of the crib and last night my decision was made!

Toddler bed? Nah…don’t go to the expense unless your crib is adjustable. I just put our mattress right on the floor so I don’t have to worry about her falling off!!

Off to work!

Hugs,
Carla

Denise Olson - oh no, time for a toddler bed!!!! Jack Jack will need one too soon….they are getting too big!!! Thank godness, she didn’t fall out….. Hopefully she’ll be tired from last night and just crash tonight!!!! yet I’m still wishing that, lol!!! Can’t wait to she you fairy stuff this week!!!!!

Michele - Lilly was up last night too. I thought she might be getting sick but she was fine today?! Good luck withthe little escapee! Baenjamin and Lilly both escaped and had to go into big beds much sooner than I wanted them to, I was affraid they would hurt themselves climbing out.

Pixel Fairy Princess - LOL – Yeah I can’t relate – Li Li will not get out of bed. I am sorry you were up all night ;-(

Okay – YOU are too much. First – I loved chatting with you today – that always makes my day – but when we got home there was a box – a HUGE bow :D Thank you – it was just what we needed today :D

Ladybug hugs,
;D

MotherMotherOcean - I guess it is around the time that she can get out of the crib. I bet you were dumbfounded. I saw Zubin get one leg over the side once (on the monitor) and I ran upstairs so fast…

norie - gee jonni..cecelia was up the entire night last night too! was it a full moon????

somethingcheeky - This is the age of the nightmare, isn’t it? Coen started having them lately too, and boy they sure are keeping him up! At least he hasn’t figured out how to get out of the crib yet!
I hope you guys get the sleep you deserve soon!
