I can't wait to see you guys in a few weeks!! Little T has really come out of her shell and is starting to play with the other kids (finally!). If all goes as planned and we don't have baseball (please pray that our team loses! LOL) then we should leave on the 9th. The reunion is on the 11th and we'll leave to come back home on the 13th. Its a quick trip but with the wedding in August we have to keep it short. So…I'm thinking maybe the 12th? We can stop in and see Big T's momma for a few then hop over to see you guys. Oh as for video cameras I second the flip. Sooo easy to use. My husband got one a few months back and we love it. It's teeny tiny too.

Funny that I check in on you today and see you asking about the 990 as I've also been considering this camera. I came so close to buying it (Amazon's price has been flickering up and down), has great reviews, but I'm a little concerned about the lag time. Also, I'm just not familiar with Canon.
Can't wait to follow more of your adventures with Sofia and as you become a family of four!
I have the older one and it worked wonderful in China until it was dropped…..I will say it goes thru the batteries, so go for the re-charge kind! The videos are fine, but the more video, the more you kill the battery…..also, it's better with outdoor photos…..some of my indoor are fuzzy and it takes a while to snap a photo…..Emily doesn't sit still long!!!!!!!

I don't know anything about it but it sure is cute.
We have a slightly older model but love it. It takes great color shots.
Just purchased the camera yeasterday and i have been very busy today snapping pictures and video. Thank god Emilee dosent mind. Shes getting my old Point and shoot so shes a happy camper. I really like it. I just finished uploading the pics and video to my computer and I am very happy with both. I think its a keeper…. hope this helps
I have this camera, and I LOVE it! It rarely takes blurry pictures(except sometimes at night, in "nighttime mode") The daytime pictures always come out great and it has a lot of manual settings that you can play around with, instead of just using the auto settings. I am quite happy with mine.
P.S. All the pictures on my blog were taken with mine.
ni, I suggest taking a flip to China, they are great, and if you take a laptop you can use the built in usb to download right away. We love our flip and they even come in a HD model now(Amazon or Costco have best prices)
I hate my powershot…I think it's crappy, but its a few years old now. I know how you feel about lugging the dslr around though.
I often throw my little camera and flip in my purse for trips to the park etc…the flip will even fit in my pocket which is brilliant! It takes up to 60 mins of video at a time, but I ususally end up with 30sec -5 minute pieces which is perfect.
I don't have it, but have heard wonderful things about it!! I will be anxious to see what you think!!

We got three short videos of Li'l E and just love watching them occasionally. One of them is with her foster parents and is so sweet. It was such a comfort to see her so well loved, with my own eyes!

Today is the 2nd year anniversary of the day we received Sofia’s referral. I don’t know how 2 years have passed so quickly but we feel so lucky to have our sweet Sofia as our daughter.
