On November 19th we attended the National Adoption Day event at The Oncenter in Syracuse, NY to celebrate Samantha’s readoption. You may remember we attended the same event back in 2008 for Sofia. You can click here to view that post. The day was so special and the local news interviewed us. I was holding Samantha and John was holding Sofia and we were not sure which one of us the newscaster wanted to interview but I asked John to do the interview and I forgot that I was still holding Samantha, so that is the reason why Sofia is in the beginning of the video with John. I did manage to get Sammy back into the video though. Unfortunately the video from the station is not very high quality.
Grandma and Grandpa S. came up from Long Island and Grandma S. once again was our attorney for the readoption proceedings. The honorable Martha Walsh Hood was our judge and she is the person who speaks towards the end of the adoption day video I posted below. She was super-nice and all the officials at the event seemed very happy to be there. After our special day we went to one of our favorite places for lunch, Dominicks.
I noticed that I was having a lot of trouble with my camera at the adoption event. The trouble actually started when I took the pictures in Cazenovia in early November. The focus was not locking and things were out of focus that should not have been. Luckily, my camera was still under warranty as well as my lenses so I sent them to Canon early in December and they had to replace my screen and had to make adjustments to my camera. They also calibrated my lenses and it made such a huge difference. Unfortunately a lot of the pics below are out of focus due to the issues and the orange color cast from the walls was tough but I am just happy to have some pictures that turned out okay from the event.
