• Hi There!

Hi, my name is Jonni and I am Mommy to Sofia (5 years old) and Samantha (6 years old) and wife to John. We reside in upstate NY. Our daughters are 5 mos. apart in age and a whole lot of fun. Sofia is from Jinchang City, Gansu and she turned 11 mos. during our trip to bring her home from China in 2007. Samantha is 5 mos. older but was our 2nd adoption. She was 3 years, 4 mos. when we brought her home from China in 2009. She is from Yangzhou City, Jiangsu.

I love blogging about our girls, photography, fonts, printables & crafts and I also have a slightly obsessive John Mayer addiction. Thank you for stopping by. :)

Getting Ready For Sofia’s Surgery Tomorrow

Sofia has surgery scheduled for tomorrow to fix an ear tube that has slipped and to have her frenum (the muscle under her tongue) cut. We are hoping this will give her tongue a little more mobility and help with her speech. Her surgery was originally scheduled for 1:30pm tomorrow but the issue I had…

I love your pictures!!

Heidi - My daughter (3) had her tongue release two weeks ago! It literally took only a minute to do (one suture) and she was talking and eating a popsicle when I was allowed to see her just moments later. Her tongue was sore for a day and she just needed liquid ibuprophen (and lots of popsicles). She really is speaking more clearly already. Sofia will do great!! Good luck!

Karim Scharf - Hi Jonni, thanks for your visit on my blog! You have beatiful kids!!

Kristy - I am sure all went just great! I hope your weekend is just awesome!!

Love and blessings, Kristy

kerri - Sending our love and best wishes for a speedy recovery!
Glad you were able to bump up the surgery time!

Sue - We are hoping all went well with Sofia.

Were thinking about her.

Sue & Jadyn

Faith Hope Love Photography - Thinking and praying for her today…Taya had the tongue clipping done at 6 months and it was a breeze so hope that parts goes as well for her. It didn't blead or she didn't notice it even had happened. Keep us updated!

Colleen - Lots of good wishes and prayers for tomorrow even though I know everything will go just fine for Sofia.
I have been meaning to email you forever! Such a busy time right now with the end of school. Will catch up soon and keep us posted on how everything goes!

Anonymous - God bless little Sophia. Be brave little one.

Amy K. - I'll be thinking of you guys tomorrow! Hope it all goes smoothly.

Hugs to Sophia,
Amy

GGHadden - Oh Jonni, you have become such a good mommie. I can remember the days when a bit of blood would freak you right out and look at you now :) Good luck to Sofia, she will do well…..she is such a trooper. Gosh I will be glad (and you too) when little "Sof" is all done with these surgeries. Smooches from me!

Anonymous - We'll all be thinking about you, little Miss Sofia – hoping for a speedy recovery. We know she's in good hands, just like Helaina always is with her surgeries. With Helaina's last surgery we were actually in the nurses' station in an area the size of a closet, so hopefully you'll at least be more comfortable in the new hospital! Roberta

Half Gaelic, Half Garlic! - Best of luck tomorrow! I will say a few prayers for your sweet girl!! So glad that you were able to move her surery up so she doesn't have to go so long without food…..that would be so hard for such a little one.

Give us an update when you can!

xoxo,

Lisa

Mother’s Day

I completely forgot to post Mother’s Day pics. I try to keep this blog up to date since I want to save it for the girls when they are older so here is my super-late post. Upstate NY is known for crazy weather, this is what we woke up to on May 9th…SNOW! Luckily it…

*Overflowing* - You got snow?? That is soooo crazy! What a fun surprise on Mother's Day!

Natalie - Jonni, a lot is going on since I have been for a visit!
It has been fun catching up a bit.
The girls are so adorable and Samantha is getting so big! How'd that happen?!

I am mostly on FB now but really miss blogging.
Look me up if you think about it.

your mama! - I have to wonder, how do you get them to pose so perfectly? May there not be a little treat involved?
