I am super-tired but wanted to write a quick post about our evening. John and I attended the Kindergarten orientation for the girls. They will be starting school this Fall and I can hardly believe it. So exciting and so sad at the same time. The girls had a fun playdate with our good friend/neighbor…
Yearly Archives: 2011

My heart went pitter-patter as I opened the envelope from Michelle. I tore open the top in excitement of what beautiful treasures lay inside. In the past Michelle had created beautiful doorknob hangers for my girls when we were waiting for each of their referrals and I had recently seen the gorgeous necklace she made…
LOVE them, think I can order one for my little Bella?
It was my pleasure to make them and I am so happy that you like them.

I was walking through the girls playroom today and saw this. They had put their Ni Hao Kai-Lan dolls together in their play highchair and even fixed lunch for their dolls. My daughters just warm my heart.
Oh my. How cute is that?! BFF’s forever and ever and ever! LOVE it. Li’l E has two KL dolls and a couple of KL’s friends. She doesn’t really play with them right now. I love them, but she’s not quite as enamored
Last night and tonight I read I Love You Like Crazy Cakes at bedtime to the girls. John has been in Texas for work all week so it has just been me and the girls. The girls brought the book down off their bookshelf and said that it was the one that they wanted me…
What a great post. Happy Birthday, John. And we’re so in love with that book. We talk freely about adoption around here all the time. Li’l E loves to look at the pics of her with “China Mommy and China Daddy” and we show her the couple videos we have. She’s not connecting it all yet, but the fact that we talk about them is (I’m praying!) paving the way for these same kinds of conversations. She occasionally will use a cuddle/talk time to ask me to give her a bottle like China Mommy used to do (from what she sees in the videos) and when she does, I scoop her up and tell her the story of the first bottle I gave her on the day we met. Then we rock and pray for China Mommy and China Daddy.
Great post – thanks for the great parenting words!!
