Sybil Guetersloh - I have just looked at your blog for the first time after running into your video on YouTube. Your daughters look so beautiful in their holiday dresses this year! It is evident how proud you are of them and how they are loved and how lovely they are!

Our internationally adopted daughter has been home 13 years and is now 18 years old. It has been a joy and pleasure raising her (another lovely girl) and time goes all too quickly before they are grown up.

The Gang's Momma - What a great post. Happy Birthday, John. And we’re so in love with that book. We talk freely about adoption around here all the time. Li’l E loves to look at the pics of her with “China Mommy and China Daddy” and we show her the couple videos we have. She’s not connecting it all yet, but the fact that we talk about them is (I’m praying!) paving the way for these same kinds of conversations. She occasionally will use a cuddle/talk time to ask me to give her a bottle like China Mommy used to do (from what she sees in the videos) and when she does, I scoop her up and tell her the story of the first bottle I gave her on the day we met. Then we rock and pray for China Mommy and China Daddy.

Heidi - My daughter (3) had her tongue release two weeks ago! It literally took only a minute to do (one suture) and she was talking and eating a popsicle when I was allowed to see her just moments later. Her tongue was sore for a day and she just needed liquid ibuprophen (and lots of popsicles). She really is speaking more clearly already. Sofia will do great!! Good luck!

Christie - No, now a days they come attached with things like Huge Pixie Sticks and Dip Sticks filled with sugar. I,m a little bitter about it because I am a teach school and we had our V-Day party today. These sugar filled tubes were the V-Day cards/treat of choice this year. La-La-Liene - Oh No! I'm so glad she's OK. I can certainly relate how terrifying that is. Eriks fell and gashed his cheek almost right under his eye at 23 months old. Luckily no stitches but they did glue it shut. He still has a small scar. It scared me to death because he could've damaged his eye to the point of blindness.

MamMaw Monica - I have found that the pain is always greater for parents (and grandparents)so far those accidents have not needed stitches for Lil Orchid but I couldn't let her look into my eyes during all the exploritory tests when she was younger. She has always had this keen sense of studing your face. Sometimes she can really freak strangers out because she will stare right through them. Hang in there and tell John I'm really proud of him. Brave Daddy! Brave Little Girl!!

I had mine removed (the old fashion way…5 inch scare) when I was a freshman in HS. Not fun at all…rest, rest, rest!!!! Oh ya, and NO laughing episodes either. My darn sisters had it out for me…they tried to lighten the mood. We laughed and laughed and about an hour later I cried and cried…the worst pain ever (yes, even worse than child birth).

Lost and Found - What wonderful news! My Em too had seizures but no one told me until I was in China. They were from a time when she was sick and needed care that couldn't be provided by her SWI. Thankfully she was loved and supported financially to get the care she needed. I'd love her regardless but she is a typical 3 1/2 year old without any medical issues.

MamMaw Monica - I am so incredibly Happy for all of you! This is why children are called "Blessings" and in all their ways "Miracles". When Little T first got home we had a toy in her crib that would make a noise if she pulled it. This is how she announced to us that she was up everyday morning! Norah - M had a seizure after being in the US for 2 months. It was so scary and I always have fear about it in the back of my head. She had all kinds of testing and everyone said the same thing. " Sometimes these things just happen. It may happen again or it may not." I'm glad you got positive results!

"M" - Great news!! I, too, was wondering if they are assuming that they were febrile seizures? My dd had one in January and am grateful that this is what it seemed to be. Something that most kids grow out of by 5 or 6. Glad she is doing so well.

Robert - SWEET! Em's immunization record said she had ONE shot. When our IA pediatrician drew blood he did all the titers which showed she has many more. In days I was sent her correct record which spared her having all those shots again. Apparently if they are in foster care or move at all there will be 2 records. The one with the single shot was from her SWI whereas the other was from where she lived the last 10 months. Good Luck!

I'm mom to virtual twin girls from China too. We stayed at the Garden hotel for our first adoption. Room service makes the BEST tuna sandwich!

Sam looks kinda shell shocked — which is understandable. When I look back at our photos, our 2nd daughter had exactly the same expression on her face for the first two weeks. But she's all smiles now!

Sherri - Congratulations! Your girls are just beautiful together. We have meet at FCC events and we have too adopted an older child. My daughters are also close in age, they are 43 days apart. They are the best of friends even though they have totally different personalities. When we adopted Mali she was 3 1/2 and she would not go to my husband at all. In the hotel room she would let him play with her a little but once we left the hotel room she wanted nothing to do with him. Now she is totally a daddies girl. So hopefully this is also the case with Samantha. I hope you have a safe journey home.

I saw the little bracelett on her arm and it looked like the bracelett I sent to ZenXiao. I was hoping she gave it to her. Anything to feel a little closer to my girl. Just seeing the bracelett in China would make me happy! You have truly been blessed in every way.

The Road To Zen - Hi Jonni, I have had seperation anxiety from your blog for 3 days! My computer went down while I was traveling. It was hard for me to read about YuPing's transition. She is just holding on to you because children live from their mothers energy and she knows you are her mother. She will trust your husband when she sees that you do. She has had very little exposure to men of any. She doesnt understand this is forever and maybe she is scared you will take her back at some point. Once you get home you will have to wild little girls running through the house like maniacs! Just remember that she is feeding off your energy so let that positive chi flow girl!!!! Buena Suerte!

Michele - Thinking of you! I have a feeling once you all are home things will change with Samantha. I am sure this is a very confusing time for her but she will be okay. With you, John and Sofia how could she not! You are a wonderful family and she will fit in perfectly Poor Sofia or should I say poor moommy!
